Herb Oelke, one-time Laguna Beach High School math teacher, made this board on the beach at St. Ann's in 1941. These boards were so heavy they were just left on the beach as they were too heavy to steal. Don Michels was its lucky owner, after paying Herb $25.00 when the board was completed.
